These are just a few important things to keep in mind to make sure we both have the best experience possible.
š For full salon policies, please make sure to check out:https://mermaidhair.salon/policies-questions
š· About Masks & Health
While masks are no longer required, Iām more than happy to wear one if that makes you more comfortableājust let me know!
If you've been sick or around anyone who has, please rescheduleĀ your appointment. Your health (and mine!) matters. I reserve the right to do a quick temp check or reschedule you if you show signs of illness. By booking, you're agreeing to this policy.
š« Guests & Kiddos
Our salon is cozy and intimate, which means thereās just not enough space for extra guests. Unless weāve discussed it beforehand, please come solo. This includes little onesāwe donāt offer childcare and want to ensure a calm, focused environment for everyone.
š§¼ Should You Wash Your Hair Before Your Appointment?
This is a BIG oneāso letās break it down real quick:
š Off-the-Scalp Services
(Balayage, Highlights, Ombre, Toners, etc.)
ā”ļø Please shampoo (and skip or lightly condition) the day of your appointment. Why? Because leftover product buildup can interfere with bleach and may cause unwanted reactions.
⨠On-the-Scalp Services
(Fully bleached roots, root touch-ups, all-over color)
ā”ļø Please wash your hair 1-2 days beforeĀ your appointment and make sure itās free of styling products.
When in doubt, just ask me!
š” Before You Arrive ā A Few Friendly Reminders
Eat before your appointment.Ā Long sessions + an empty stomach = not a vibe. Youāre welcome to bring snacks or even order food in!
No credit cards at this time.Ā I currently accept:
Zelle
Venmo
Cash
Bring a charger.Ā I usually have one, but itās always good to bring yours just in case.
Photos!Ā I love capturing your transformation. If you want to glam up or bring props, go for it!
Donāt wear white or fancy clothes.Ā Bleach and color can sneak past the cape. Bring a shirt you donāt mind getting messy if neededāI wonāt judge your bleach tee š if you have something you want to wear for photos, bring it and you can change after your hair is done
š Aftercare Tips for Rainbow, Vivid, and Blonde Hair
Youāve got the magical hairānow hereās how to keep it looking fresh!
š When Should You Come Back?
White blonde or pastel?Ā I recommend coming back every 4-6 weeksĀ to keep it bright and avoid banding.
OK with a fade-out or grow-out?Ā Thatās totally up to you! Just know that after 6-8 weeks, the lifting process takes longer and may need more product and time (which means more š°).
š§“ Can I Use Drugstore Products?
Please donāt skimp here! Iām happy to recommend shampoos, conditioners, and styling products based on your hair type and budget. The salon also stocks high-quality options that I trust.
If you use hot tools, heat protectant is a mustāno exceptions!
š¬ Will My Hair Stain Stuff?
If we went vivid (not pastel), it may bleed onto:
Light pillowcases
Towels
Car headrestsEspecially when your hair is wet or youāre sweating. Stick to darker fabrics for the first few washes just to be safe.
š§ Be Gentle With Wet Hair
Avoid tying your hair up in a ponytail or bun when itās damp. Lightened hair is more fragile when wet, and breakage is real. Be kind to your strands!
š Questions? Always Reach Out!
I know thatās a lot of info, and I probably missed something. So please, never hesitate to ask! Iāll respond within 1ā3 days, always with love and care.
I can't wait to see you and make hair magic happen š
Thanks for being hereāand thank you for trusting me with your crown š
